Shinto
The holy symbols of Shinto are the Torii Gate. This gate symbolizes where a sacred place is. These bridges represent the transition between the infinite world and the finite world of the gods. You will only find torii gates at Shinto shrines. Big shrines will have at least 2 torii gates. Torii gates are marked so that they tell you what they are used for, like if the shrine is used for a local kami, or if it is a traveling kami.
