Shinto is split up into 2 sections. The Sectarian Shinto which has 13 denominations and the National Faith of Japanese.

The 13 denominations were: Tenrikyo, Konkokyo, Kurozumikyo, Fuso-kyo, Izumo-oyashiro-kyo, Jikko-kyo, Misogi-kyo, Shinshu-kyo, Shinto-shuseiha, Shinri-kyo, Shinto Taisei-kyo, Ontake-kyo and Shinto Taikyo.

There have been older forms of Shinto. They are Jinja which was the largest Shinto group.

Khoya Shinto which consists of 13 sects which were founded by people in the 19th century.

And Folk Shinto which is not actually a Shinto practice, but parts of the belief are mixed into modern day Shinto.
