Rituals

Picture Source Ritual is central to the practice of Shinto. Every step of a ritual within a shrine follows a pattern, with segments including purification, prayer, offering, and entertainment for the kami. Matsuri or festivals are celebrations that have the entire community and may last for several days. As well as specialized events at particular shrines and other sacred area’s in japan. They are usually done  by male priests who are helped  by a female shrine functionary called a miko, who is a shaman.
