Denominations
Shinto is split up into 2 sections. The Sectarian
Shinto which has 13 denominations and the National Faith of Japanese.
The 13 denominations were: Tenrikyo, Konkokyo,
Kurozumikyo, Fuso-kyo, Izumo-oyashiro-kyo, Jikko-kyo, Misogi-kyo, Shinshu-kyo,
Shinto-shuseiha, Shinri-kyo, Shinto Taisei-kyo, Ontake-kyo and Shinto Taikyo.
There have been older forms of Shinto. They are
Jinja which was the largest Shinto group.
Khoya Shinto which consists of 13 sects which
were founded by people in the 19th century.
And Folk Shinto which is not actually a Shinto
practice, but parts of the belief are mixed into modern day Shinto.
